Film fans are abuzz after the recent premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s 9th feature film. Said to be his most personal film yet, “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” is a vibrant and violent depiction of the summer of ‘69 in Hollywood with an unsurprisingly dazzling cast including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and even Al Pacino.
And while some are calling it a “hang-out comedy” it’s also being widely recognized as an absolute masterpiece, with Rotten Tomatoes calling it “thrillingly unrestrained yet solidly crafted”. This can only mean one thing – it’s time to break out the popcorn and embark on an epic Tarantino movie marathon. That should make for a lovely, get this, 1,417 minutes of violence, action, epic dialogues and often Samuel L. Jackson (that’s two hours and thirty-seven minutes on average flick).
There’s no denying, whether your fave is Inglorious Basterds, Death Proof or Django Unchained, there’s something special about a good Tarantino movie. Sometimes, when it’s on a random channel late at night, it can be fun to watch just a seen or two. There’s something larger than life and yet completely ordinary about the way he directs. We can’t quite put our finger on it.
